Title

Substitute resolution approving construction of nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City construction cost estimated to be $2,270,700 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $2,475,700.

Analysis

This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works.  The City cost of the projects approved by this resolution is estimated to be $2,270,700.  The total estimated cost of these projects is $2,475,700.

Body

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and

 

Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:

 

1st Aldermanic District

 

W. Elm St. - N. Teutonia Ave. to 1,600 feet west of N. Teutonia Ave. (WT410160010) File Number 151288:  Hydrant alteration.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $15,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $30,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.

 

2nd Aldermanic District

 

W. Gertrude Dr. - W. Stark St. to W. Palmetto Ave. (WT410160704) File Number 150118:  Relaying water main.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $175,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $190,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.

 

N. Prentiss St. - W. Tallmadge Pl. to W. Sheridan Ave. (WT410160647) File Number 150118:  Relaying water main.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $175,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $190,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.

Sheridan Ave. - N. 69th St. to N. 76th St. (WT410160646) File Number 150118:  Relaying water main.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $630,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $670,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.

 

W. Tallmadge Pl./N. 73rd St. - 500 feet south of N. Prentiss St. to N. Prentiss St. (WT410160645) File Number 150118:  Relaying water main.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $135,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $150,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.

 

N. 69th St. - W. Fiebrantz Ave. to W. Marion St. (WT410160657) File Number 150118:  Relaying water main.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $440,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $465,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.

 

N. 74th St. - W. Custer Ave. to W. Tallmadge Pl. (WT410160648) File Number 150118:  Relaying water main.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $215,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $230,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.

 

N. 78th St. - W. Luscher Ave. to W. Gertrude Dr. (WT410160703) File Number 150118:  Relaying water main.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $200,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $215,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.

 

8th Aldermanic District

 

W. Pierce St. at S. 37th St. (ST211141153) File Number 160107: Pedestrian crossing.  Concrete pavement reconstruction, replace all curb and gutter, sidewalk and driveway approaches, sodding, and grading.  (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $35,000; Developer Paving Fund -- $35,700 (ST214160102)).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $75,700.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.

 

12th Aldermanic District

 

S. 5th St. - W. Virginia St. to W. Scott St. (WT410160005) File Number 151646:  Hydrant alteration.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $105,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $120,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.

 

14th Aldermanic District

 

Kinnickinnic Avenue Stormwater Trees:  S. Kinnickinnic Ave. - W. Morgan Ave. to W. Becher St. (SM499140102) File Number 150119:  (Storm Water Quality - Nonassessable Water Quality Projects to meet TMDL Requirements -- $110,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $140,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.

 

now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
