Substitute resolution relative to the acceptance and funding of the 2016-17 Healthy Birth Outcomes Grant from United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County.

Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund the Healthy Birth Outcomes Grant from United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County in the amount of $50,000. The purpose of the Healthy Birth Outcomes Grant is to serve families in need of services related to: improving pregnancy outcomes; improving family health, safety, and development; preventing child abuse and neglect; enhancing family functioning; and assuring child readiness for school.

Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County to improve pregnancy outcomes, enhance family functions, prevent child abuse and neglect and assure child readiness for school; and

Whereas, The continued operation of this grant program from 7/01/16 to 06/30/2017 would cost $50,000 entirely provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that acceptance of this grant from the United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent of the 2016 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the program titled Healthy Birth Outcomes Grant:
