Title
Substitute resolution authorizing the Department of Employee Relations to extend the current contract with Willis Towers Watson and execute a two year extension for benefit consultant services for the City of Milwaukee.
Body
Whereas, The current contract with Willis Towers Watson ends on December 31, 2016 and DER and Willis Towers Watson agreed to a two-year extension commencing January 1, 2017 and ending December 31, 2018; and
Whereas, The City has received exceptional services from Willis Towers Watson including RFP preparation, data reporting, strategic planning, actuarial services, recommendations on benefit programs and services, facilitating the work of the labor/management committee; and
Whereas, Willis Towers Watson will maintain its current benefits consultant service level with no additional increase in contract cost through 2018 and the City has been very satisfied with the services provided by Willis Towers Watson to date; and
Whereas, based on the experience and knowledge achieved by Willis Towers Watson on the City’s benefit programs and services and the multiple initiatives currently underway and expected in upcoming years; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of Employee Relations is authorized to commence a two-year contract extension with Willis Towers Watson to provide benefit consultant services for the period starting January 1, 2017 and ending December 31, 2018.
