Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a revised project agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the programming, design, and construction of South 60th Street from West Morgan Avenue to the Kinnickinnic River Parkway with State and Federal aid under the Surface Transportation Program.
Body
Whereas, A project agreement has been executed by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the City of Milwaukee for the improvement of South 60th Street from West Morgan Avenue to the Kinnickinnic River Parkway using State and Federal aid under the Surface Transportation Program, in accordance with Common Council Resolution File Number 140427, adopted July 22, 2014; and

Whereas, The project agreement included signal improvement costs within the project limits, whose work was to be done with City of Milwaukee forces under a Local Force Account contract; and

Whereas, The City requested and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation agreed that the signal improvements be added to and undertaken with the paving contract; and

Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has transmitted for our signature a revised project agreement, for the South 60th Street roadway improvement project, that shifts the grant dollars from the signal portion of the agreement to the roadway improvement portion of the agreement without degradation to the overall grant funding amount and while still undertaking the necessary signal improvements as part of the paving work let to contract; and
