Analysis
This resolution authorizes an easement for below and above ground electrical services on a City-owned property.
Body
Whereas, Wisconsin Electric Power Company, doing business as WE Energies, provides electrical service to the City-owned property at 4025 West Lincoln Avenue that is used as a self-help refuse drop-off facility; and
Whereas, The Department of Public Works, working with WE Energies, has requested to expand the existing electrical service to provide additional energy service capacity to said property to power an improved security gate system; and
Whereas, As part of the service realignment and at no cost to the City of Milwaukee (“City”), WE Energies has agreed to upgrade the electrical service to said property; and
Whereas, WE Energies has requested a ten-foot-wide easement on said property to accommodate expanded electrical service capacity, a copy of which easement is attached to this Common Council File; and
Whereas, The City shall not require compensation for the easement because the easement provides improved electrical services at a City-owned facility; and
Whereas, Department of City Development staff reviewed the easement and recommends approval; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the easement with Wisconsin Electric Power Company at the City-owned property at 4025 West Lincoln Avenue is approved and that the proper City officials are authorized to execute said easement.
