Analysis
This resolution designates the Louis Auer & Son Houses at 2005 and 2009 East Kenwood Boulevard.
Body
Whereas, The Milwaukee Historic Preservation Ordinance, Section 308-81 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances, as amended, provides that Historic Sites, Structures and Districts may be designated by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee upon the recommendation of the Historic Preservation Commission; and
Whereas, The Historic Preservation Commission recommends that the Louis Auer & Son Houses at 2005 and 2009 East Kenwood Boulevard be designated as Historic Sites; and
Whereas, These sites possess integrity of location, design, setting, materials, workmanship and association and fulfill the following criterion set forth in Section 308-81(2)(e):
e-5. Its embodiment of the distinguishing characteristics of an architectural type or specimen.
e-8. Its relationship to other distinctive areas, which are eligible for preservation according to a plan based on an historic, cultural or architectural motif.
; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Louis Auer & Son Houses at 2005 and 2009 East Kenwood Boulevard, and further described as follows:
Assessor’s Plat No. 102 in NW 1/4 SEC 15-7-22 Block 1 Lot 3 (2005 East Kenwood Boulevard)
Assessor’s Plat No. 102 in NW 1/4 SEC 15-7-22 Block 1 Lot 2 (2009 East Kenwood Boulevard)
be designated as Milwaukee Historic Sites. The Preservation Guidelines pursuant to the Historic Designation Study Report, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File, shall apply to these Sites and are adopted by the Common Council as part of this resolution.
