Analysis
This motion authorizes negotiation and execution of a 5-year City charter school contract with Milwaukee Collegiate Academy as recommended by the Charter School Review Committee. Milwaukee Collegiate Academy (originally operating as the CEO Leadership Academy) was initially authorized to operate as a charter school for a 5-year period beginning with the 2010-2011 school year and ending on the last day of the current 2015-2016 school year.

Whereas, The 5-year city charter school contract with the Milwaukee Collegiate Academy (originally operating as the CEO Leadership Academy) authorized by adoption of Common Council File #100282 on July 27, 2010, expires on the last day of the 2015-2016 school year; and
Whereas, The Charter School Review Committee recommended in Common Council File #150804 on February 18, 2016, that a new, 5-year charter school contract be granted to the Milwaukee Collegiate Academy upon expiration of the school’s current charter; now, therefore
It is moved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the appropriate City officials are authorized to negotiate and execute a 5-year City charter school contract with Milwaukee Collegiate Academy, provided this contract is substantially in accordance with Milwaukee Collegiate Academy’s expiring charter school contract.
