Title:
Resolution authorizing the Milwaukee Police Department to accept and fund a Promoting Assets and Reducing Crime Initiative agreement.

Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept and fund a Greater Milwaukee Foundation grant through Marquette University in the amount of $50,000 with a city share of $0. The purpose of this initiative is to provide more proactive police enforcement and detailed criminal investigations and follow-up for the Near West Side areas.

Body:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for funds from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation through Marquette University; and

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee may enter into an agreement with Marquette University; and

Whereas, The operation of this initiative from 5/01/15 to 5/31/16 would cost $50,000 of which 100% would be provided through the agreement; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Police Department shall accept this agreement without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the appropriate City officials are authorized to execute the grant agreement with the Marquette University; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2015 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects fund, the following amount for the program titled: PARC Initiative Grant:
