Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of a Fiscal Year 2009 Wisconsin Emergency Medical Services Funding Assistance Program grant.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Fire Department to apply for, accept and fund a Fiscal Year 2009 Wisconsin Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Funding Assistance Program grant (formerly known as Act 102) from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services in the amount of $81,916.97, with the grantor share of $81,916.97. The purpose of the project is to enhance provision of emergency medical services through purchase of ambulance vehicles and vehicle equipment, emergency medical service supplies and equipment, and training.

Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for a Fiscal Year 2009 Wisconsin Emergency Medical Services Funding Assistance Program grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009 would cost $81,916.97, funded entirely by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services is authorized and the Fire Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant changes as indicated in section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2008 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the program titled Wisconsin EMS Funding Assistance Program:
