Resolution authorizing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Revised Project Agreement titled "State/Municipal Agreement for a Highway Improvement Project" between the City of Milwaukee and Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT) associated with the rehabilitation of the East Lincoln Avenue Bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad with 80 percent Federal and/or State aid under the Local Bridge Rehabilitation Program.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Revised Project Agreement with the WISDOT associated with the rehabilitation of the East Lincoln Avenue Bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad. The Revised Project Agreement provides for 80 percent Federal/State aid and 20 percent local cost sharing for construction costs for the project. The total estimated construction costs for the project is $5,750,000 of which $1,150,000 is the City of Milwaukee’s share and $4,600,000 is the grantor share. Construction funds will be requested in a future Common Council resolution.

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted Resolution File Number 040864 authorizing and directing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute an agreement with the WISDOT for rehabilitation of the East Lincoln Avenue Bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad with 80 percent Federal and/or State aid under the Local Bridge Rehabilitation Program; and

Whereas, Construction costs have been refined and increased since the original agreement was drafted four years ago; and

Whereas, The WISDOT has submitted a Revised Project Agreement that includes additional monies for the construction associated with the bridge rehabilitation for City execution; and

Whereas, This project is scheduled for construction in 2011 and construction funds for this project will be requested in a separate resolution; now, therefore, be it
