Title
Substitute resolution relating to the inclusion of On Purpose Journey Inc. in the City of Milwaukee Employees’ Combined Giving Campaign.
Analysis
This resolution directs the proper City officials to take the actions necessary to ensure that On Purpose Journey Inc. is included as a participating recipient of donations in the City’s future Combined Giving Campaign.
Body
Whereas, The City's Combined Giving Campaign is an annual fund drive in which City employees pool their resources to improve the quality of life in the Milwaukee community by contributing to umbrella groups of local nonprofit agencies, individual agencies within those umbrella groups, various designated unaffiliated agencies or other qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that provide health or human services in Wisconsin; and

Whereas, On Purpose Journey Inc. promotes supporting, honoring and remembering firefighters, law enforcement, military and veterans through programs like Books for Bravery and Standing for the Fallen; and

Whereas, Books for Bravery brings fire, police and military representatives to fifth grade students on the anniversary of 9/11 to share stories, answer questions and hand out books; and

Whereas, Standing for the Fallen is an evening memorial tribute and display on the anniversary of 9/11 to honor and remember the firefighters, law enforcement, Pentagon and service members killed since September 11, 2001; and

Whereas, On Purpose Journey Inc. is partnered with the Milwaukee Fire Department, as well as other fire, law enforcement, military and veterans organizations for future programs including Books for Bravery and Standing for the Fallen; and

Whereas, On Purpose Journey Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; now, therefore, be it
