Title
Resolution approving quit claiming a portion of Southlawn’s alleys to the City of Milwaukee, pending bond counsel approval
Analysis
Body
the assemblage of property that created the Southlawn Development resulted in only a portion of two paved alleys, coming off of South 25th Street and West Holt Avenue, becoming dedicated public right-of-way (see attached Diagram); and
WHEREAS, every other alley and street in the development was constructed on public right-of-way and the alleys in question have been historically used for the same purpose as the alleys that are public right-of-way and have been maintained by the City of Milwaukee as if they were in fact dedicated public right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, the City Department of Public Works (DPW) is planning to repave the alleys at Southlawn and the surrounding community; and
WHEREAS, DPW has requested that HACM execute an Intent to Quit Claim for the purpose of conveying the non-public portions of the alleys to the City for City maintenance and repair; now, therefore, be it:
RESOLVED, by the Housing Authority Board of Commissioners, that the appropriate signators execute the Intent to Quit Claim and convey it to the City Engineer.
