Resolution approving Amendment No. 1 to Contract 14-036 with Professional Asbestos Removal and Survey Services Corporation (PARSS) for Hazardous Materials Abatement Services at Various Sites
Analysis
Staff recommends exercising the option to renew the contract for another year pursuant to the terms of the contract. The current contract authority is a not-to-exceed amount of $500,000, expiring January 5, 2016. The amendment will add a not-to-exceed amount of $150,000 to the contract authority and extend the contract period to January 5, 2017. M/W/DBE participation is proposed at 20%; to date, the contractor has satisfied its 20% goal for MBE subcontract participation. Section 3 participation is proposed at 10%; the contractor is currently utilizing a self-certified Section 3 subcontractor.

WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (Authority) by adoption of Resolution No. 12664 on December 11, 2014, authorized and approved the entering into of a contract between Professional Removal & Survey Services Corporation and the Authority for Hazardous Materials Abatement Services at Various Sites; and

WHEREAS, Professional Removal & Survey Services Corporation has requested that their contract be renewed for an additional year in accordance with the contract provisions; and

WHEREAS, after review of the files by staff of the Authority, it has been determined that Professional Removal & Survey Services Corporation has performed the work satisfactorily during the initial contract period and it is in the best interests of the Authority to renew their contract for an additional year at the same terms and conditions of the original contract; now, therefore, be it
