Title
Substitute resolution approving construction of nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City construction cost estimated to be $1,830,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $2,085,000.
Analysis
This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works. The City cost of the projects approved by this resolution is estimated to be $1,830,000. The total estimated cost of these projects is $2,085,000.
Body
Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and
Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:
1st Aldermanic District
W. Stark St. - N. 36th St. to N. 37th St. (WT410160665) File Number 150118: Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $90,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $105,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.
2nd and 7th Aldermanic Districts
W. Fond du Lac Ave. Bioswales - W. Capitol Dr. to W. Hampton Ave. (SM499150102) File Number 141727: (Nonassessable Storm Water Quality Fund -- $70,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $80,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.
4th and 12th Aldermanic Districts
Water Street Bascule Bridge (100N) over the Milwaukee River (BR100160105) File Number 131475 (BR100140106): Replacement of bridge span centerlocks. (City Share Non-assessable Structure Fund -- $700,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $850,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.
5th Aldermanic District
W. Congress St. - N. 99th St. to N. 100th St. (WT410160630) File Number 150118: Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $80,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $95,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.
N. 95th St. - 170 feet north of W. Concordia Ave. to W. Townsend St. (WT410160694) File Number 150118: Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $120,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $135,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.

The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $140,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.

The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $100,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.

The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $155,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.

W. McKinley Ave. - N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. to N. 6th St. (SM495160019) File Number 151420: Utility relocation for W. McKinley Ave. sewer relocation. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $420,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $445,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
