Title:

Resolution authorizing acceptance of additional funding for the ATF Milwaukee Firearms/Violent Crimes Impact Team task force grant. 

 

Analysis:

This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept additional funds for the ATF Milwaukee Firearms/Violent Crimes Impact Team task force grant from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives in the amount of $36,000 for a total of $115,300 with a city share of $-0- and a grantor share of $115,300.  The purpose of this grant is to fund overtime expenses in order to provide resources to assist the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in joint law enforcement operations. 

 

Body:

Whereas, Funding for the period 10/1/14 to 9/30/15 in the amount of $79,000 was approved on March 31, 2015 by Common Council File No. 141635; and

 

Whereas, Additional funding of $36,000 has now been provided by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; now therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Police Department is authorized to accept the additional funding without further approval unless its terms change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to increase the current grant budget by $36,000 for a total of $115,300; and, be it

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted for the Milwaukee Police Department which is authorized to:

1. Expend from the amount budgeted for specified purposes as indicated in the project budget and incur costs consistent with the award date.
