Resolution approving Amendment No. 1 to Contract 14-035 with Otis Elevator Company for Elevator Maintenance Services at Various Sites
Analysis
Staff recommends exercising the option to renew the contract for another year pursuant to the terms of the contract. The current contract authority is a not-to-exceed amount of $163,740, expiring December 31, 2015. The amendment will add a not-to-exceed amount of $163,740 to the contract authority and extend the contract period to December 31, 2016. M/W/DBE participation is proposed at 0%; subcontracting to EBEs is impractical for this contract. Section 3 participation is proposed at 0%, as this contract will not trigger Section 3.

WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (Authority) by adoption of Resolution No.12647, on November 12, 2014, authorized and approved the entering into of a contract between Otis Elevator Company and the Authority for elevator maintenance services at various housing developments; and
WHEREAS, Otis Elevator Company has performed satisfactorily during the initial term of the Contract and staff of the Authority recommends exercising the first option to renew for an additional one year period; and
WHEREAS, Otis Elevator Company has agreed to renew the Contract at the same rates, terms and conditions as the original contract; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee that they be and hereby authorize and approve entering into an amendment with Otis Elevator Company to renew for an additional one year period through December 31, 2016 for elevator maintenance services at various housing developments; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Commissioners of the Authority that Contract No. 14-035 be increased for the renewal period by a not to exceed amount of $163,740.00 broken out as follows: $137,940.00 for scheduled maintenance service plus...
