Substitute resolution amending Common Council Resolution #150598 relative to the acceptance and funding of the 2015-16 Family Foundations Comprehensive Home Visiting Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Children and Families.
Analysis
This resolution amends Common Council File #150598 relative to acceptance and funding of the Family Foundations Comprehensive Home Visiting Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Children and Families in the amount of $2,491,592 with a grantor share of $1,549,598 (62%) and a city share of $941,994 (38%). The purpose of the grant is to serve families in need of services related to improving pregnancy outcomes, enhancing family functions, preventing child abuse and neglect and assuring child readiness for school.

Whereas, Common Council Files #150598 authorized the Health Department to accept and fund the 2015-16 Family Foundations Comprehensive Home Visiting Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Children and Families to improve pregnancy outcomes, enhance family functions, prevent child abuse and neglect and assure child readiness for school. This grant provided for a Grantor share total of $1,549,598 and a city share of $941,994; and
Whereas, the total expenditures of this program is increased by $27,439 with an increase in the Grantor share total of $40,000 and a decrease in the city share total of $12,561; now therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the State of Wisconsin Department of Children and Families is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it
