Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Chief Information Officer to share communications cable and provide network connectivity at the expense of and for the use and benefit of Milwaukee County McKinley Marina. This will provide McKinley Marina offices, located at 1750 North Lincoln Memorial Drive, connectivity to the primary Milwaukee County enterprise data facilities at the Milwaukee County Courthouse.

Body
Whereas, As governments at all levels face increased funding challenges to meet the needs of residents and businesses with fewer resources, it becomes increasingly important for governments to work together to secure funding and reduce duplication of efforts; and

Whereas, Milwaukee County has requested the assistance of the City of Milwaukee in obtaining high-speed network connectivity between its McKinley Marina offices at 1750 North Lincoln Memorial Drive and its enterprise data facilities at the Milwaukee County Courthouse at its expense; and

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee owns communications cable and can provide network services in certain routes that would be beneficial to the extension and enhancement of Milwaukee County to further its mission even though the City cannot provide any customer service or connectivity guarantee for the use of that communications cable; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Chief Information Officer is authorized and directed to share communications cable and to provide network connectivity at no cost to the City of Milwaukee in certain routes where capacity is available to enable Milwaukee County to connect to its enterprise data facilities at the Milwaukee County Courthouse and, b...
