Analysis
This resolution authorizes an easement for below and above ground electrical services on a City-owned property.
Body
Whereas, Wisconsin Electric Power Company, doing business as We Energies, provides electrical service to the City-owned property at 1313 West Mount Vernon Avenue (the “Property”); and
Whereas, The existing electrical facilities provide electrical service to the Property that is improved with a City-owned building that houses the offices of Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful; and
Whereas, The Department of Public Works, working with We Energies, has requested to expand the existing electrical service to provide additional energy service capacity to the Property; and
Whereas, As part of the service realignment, and at no cost to the City of Milwaukee (“City”), We Energies has agreed to upgrade the electrical service to the Property; and
Whereas, We Energies has requested a twelve-foot-wide easement on the Property to accommodate expanded electrical service capacity, a copy of which easement is attached to this Common Council File; and
Whereas, The City shall not require compensation for the easement because the easement provides improved electrical services at a City-owned building; and
Whereas, The Department of City Development has reviewed the easement and recommends approval; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the easement with Wisconsin Electric Power Company at the City-owned property at 1313 West Mount Vernon Avenue is approved and that the proper City officials are authorized to execute the easement.
