Title

A substitute ordinance relating to a private ambulance dispatch fee.

Analysis

This ordinance provides for a $10 fee to be assessed for each call assigned by the city to a private ambulance service provider.  The private service provider is authorized to bill $15 to the patient. A fee of $10 shall be paid by the private service provider to the city.

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1.  Section 75-15.14-e of the code is created to read:

75-15. Ambulance Certification Regulations.

14. DETERMINING RATES BILLED BY PRIVATE SECTOR PROVIDERS.

e. In addition to the charges authorized in par. c, a private sector provider dispatch charge of $15 shall be assessed, of which $10 shall be paid to the city.
