Title
Resolution authorizing an easement with Wisconsin Electric Power Company at the City-owned property at 3912 South Howell Avenue to expand utility service for the Tippecanoe Library renovation project, in the 13th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes an easement for above and below ground electrical services on a City-owned property.
Body
Whereas, Wisconsin Electric Power Company, doing business as We Energies, provides electrical service to the City-owned property at 3912 South Howell Avenue; and

Whereas, The existing and new electrical facilities provide electrical service to the City-owned property at 3912 South Howell Avenue that is improved with a City-owned library known as Tippecanoe Library; and

Whereas, The Milwaukee Public Library (“MPL”), working with We Energies, has requested to realign the current electrical service to provide additional energy service to the property, due to the renovation of the library; and

Whereas, As part of the service realignment and at no cost to the City of Milwaukee (“City”), We Energies has agreed to upgrade and relocate the electrical service to the City-owned property; and

Whereas, The City and We Energies have negotiated an easement for the new service and joint use of the new installation, a copy of which easement is attached to this Common Council File; and

Whereas, The City shall not require compensation for the easement because the easement provides improved electrical services at a municipal facility; and

Whereas, The Department of City Development has reviewed the easement and recommends approval; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the easement with Wisconsin Electric Power Company at the City-owned property and library at 3912 South Howell Avenue is approved and that the proper City officials are authorized to execute the easement.
