Resolution authorizing an easement with Wisconsin Electric Power Company on City of Milwaukee property at 1600 East College Avenue and 1701 East College Avenue, in the 13th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes an easement for underground electrical facilities across a City-owned property.
Body
Whereas, The Department of Public Works is operating a spoils dump at 1701 East Collage Avenue, and

Whereas, To improve safety at the spoils dump it is highly desirable to illuminate it and provide electrical power, and

Whereas, DPW is working with Wisconsin Electric Power Company, doing business as WE Energies, to supply electrical service, and

Whereas, WE Energies has requested an easement on City Property at 1600 East College Avenue (Southwest ¼ of Section 34, Township 6 North), and on Department of Public Works property at 1701 East College Avenue (Northwest ¼ of Section 3, Township 5 North, Range 22 East) to accommodate the new underground electrical service, as illustrated in Exhibit A, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File; and

Whereas, The Department of City Development has reviewed the proposed easement with the Department of Public Works and WE Energies and determined that the easement will not interfere with its use of the property; and

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee shall not require compensation for the easement because the easement is needed to facilitate the street improvement project; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the easement with Wisconsin Electric Power Company, doing business as WE Energies, at the City-owned property at 1600 East College Avenue and 1701 East College Avenue; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the required City officials are authorized to execute the easement document on behalf of the City.
