Title

Substitute resolution amending Common Council File #140291 relative to the acceptance and funding of the 2014-15 HIV Risk Reduction Grant from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

 

Analysis

This resolution amends Common Council File #140291 relative to acceptance and funding of the HIV Risk Reduction Grant from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee This grant provided for a Grantor share total of $100,099 entirely provided by the grantor. Subsequently the Grantor awarded $100,309. The purpose of the project seeks to develop a new intervention that addresses life issues (employment, housing, domestic violence, substance abuse), as well individual behaviors, in order to reduce risk among people at high vulnerability for HIV infection. 

 

Body

Whereas, Common Council Resolution #140291 authorized the Health Department to accept and fund the HIV Risk Reduction Grant from the Medical College of Wisconsin for the purpose of developing a new intervention in order to reduce risk among people at high vulnerability for HIV infection. This grant provided for a Grantor share total of $100,309 entirely provided by the grantor; and

 

Whereas, the total expenditures of this program have been increased by $30,000 to a total of $130,309 of which all is provided by the grantor; and

 

Whereas, The operation of this grant project will be from 08/01/14 to 07/31/16; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

 

 

 

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

 

1.  Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2015 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled HIV Risk Reduction Grant from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee:

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Health Department which is authorized to:

 

1.                     Expend from the amount budgeted sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date;

 

2.                     Expend from the 2015 grant budget for training and out-of-town travel for staff;

 

3.                     Expend from the 2015 grant budget for equipment as specified in the grant budget; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Common Council directs that the 2015 Positions Ordinance C.C. File Number 140624, should be amended as follows:
