Analysis
This resolution authorizes City officials to issue an occupancy permit to Barthenheier Construction, Inc. allowing them to occupy the northerly 60 feet of the north/south alley in the block bounded by East Michigan Street, North Broadway, East Clybourn Street and North Water Street.

Body
Whereas, Barthenheier Construction, Inc. has been retained to undertake the remodeling of the Mackie Building at 225 East Michigan Street; and

Whereas, Barthenheier Construction, Inc. has requested to occupy the entire north/south alley adjacent to the site; and

Wheras, A temporary outlet for this alley will be provided onto North Broadway, just south of the Mackie Building, through a parking lot; and

Whereas, Barthenheier Construction, Inc. will be responsible to contact all affected property owners and businesses informing them that the northerly 60 feet of the alley will be closed; and

Whereas, The Commissioner of Public Works may approve temporary occupancy of up to one-third of the width of the alley while temporary use beyond that point must be approved by the Common Council; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to issue a permit to Barthenheier Construction, Inc. allowing occupancy of the entire width of the northerly 60 feet of the north/south alley bounded by East Michigan Street, North Broadway, East Clybourn Street and North Water Street for 2 years; and, be it

Further Resolved, That Barthenheier Construction, Inc. is also permitted to occupy the sidewalk and curb lane area on East Michigan Street and North Broadway, adjacent to the Mackie Building.
