Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $45,500 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $707,500.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable. After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council. The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $45,500 with the total cost estimated to be $707,500.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:
3rd Aldermanic District
N. Prospect Ave. - E. Newberry Blvd. to E. Locust St. (WT410081097): Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $120,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2009 construction season.
8th and 11th Aldermanic Districts
S. 35th St. - W. Oklahoma Ave. to a point north of W. Oklahoma Ave. (ST211090128): Island removal; median revision. (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $5,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $10,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2009 construction season.
11th Aldermanic District
W. Lincoln Ave. - A point east of S. 35th St. to S. 36th St. (ST211090129): Paving the roadway with asphalt. Laying a concrete curb and gutter. Laying concrete sidewalk. Doing all the necessary grading pertaining to said work. Median revision. (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $10,500). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $37,500. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2009 construction season.
13th Aldermanic District
E. College Ave. - 1,450 feet east of S. Howell Ave. to 3,575 feet east of S. Howell Ave.(WT410090501): Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $450,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2009 construction season.
City Wide
Sanitary Sewer Exams. (SM495080050): The total estimated cost for this project is $90,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2008 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
