Title

Resolution directing the proper City officers to execute an underground conduit easement to allow existing City conduit and cabling to remain in place on the block bound by West Galena Street, North 6^th Street, West Highland Avenue and North 7^th Street in the 6^th Aldermanic District.

Analysis

This resolution creates an easement for City conduit to provide a phone and data link to Milwaukee Police Department located within Sojourner Family Peace Center.

Body

Whereas, Sojourner Family Peace Center owns a development on the block bounded by West Galena Street, North 6^th Street, West Highland Avenue and North 7^th Street to service adults and children impacted by domestic abuse; and

Whereas, Milwaukee Police Department will have a physical presence within Sojourner Family Peace Center which requires a link to the City's data and telephone systems: and

Whereas, Underground conduit and cabling easement UG 34 creates a 10-foot wide easement generally located north of West Galena Street immediately west of North 6^th Street to allow the City to continue to install, own, maintain and operate these facilities; and

Whereas, The terms of said easement are set out and attached to this file and approved as to content by the City Engineer and as to form by the Office of the City Attorney: now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that said easement is hereby approved, and the proper City officers are authorized to execute the same on behalf of the City of Milwaukee; and, be it

Further Resolved, That after said easement has been fully executed, it shall be returned to the City Engineer for recording and proper distribution.
