Substitute resolution amending a special privilege to Marquette University to construct and maintain an additional underground communications package in the public right-of-way for the university campus at and adjacent to 1801 West Wisconsin Avenue, in the 4th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This resolution amends a special privilege to Marquette University for an additional underground communications conduit package along the southline of West Wells Street for the building at 1768 West Wells Avenue, which is in a greater network of chiller, steam, electrical and communications lines for the university campus at and adjacent to 1801 West Wisconsin Avenue.
Body
Whereas, Marquette University had requested permission for chiller lines, steam lines, electrical lines and communications conduit in various public rights-of-way to serve buildings on the university campus; and
Whereas, Permission for said items was last granted under Common Council Resolution File Number 140600 in 2015; and
Whereas, Marquette University is currently requesting permission to construct and maintain two additional underground conduits running parallel to the southline of West Wells Street east of North 18th Street; and
Whereas, Said communications conduits may only legally encroach into the public right-of-way by granting of a special privilege resolution adopted by the Common Council; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that Common Council Resolution File Numbers 140600 is hereby rescinded; and, be it
Further Resolved, That Marquette University, P.O. Box 1881, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53201-1881 is hereby granted the following special privileges:
