Title
Substitute resolution authorizing the expenditure of up to $20,000 in contributions received for the MKE Peace Project.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes directs the City Comptroller to transfer funds to the appropriate accounts and authorizes the City Clerk's Office to expend contributions appropriated in 2015 for the MKE Peace Project.
Body
Whereas, On May 12, 2015, the Common Council adopted File Number 150149, which authorizes the acceptance of private contributions to support the MKE Peace Project initiative in accordance with established City policies and procedures; and
Whereas, The MKE Peace Project challenges youth in the central city to initiate an assessment of factors that contribute to violence in their neighborhoods and to offer solutions; and
Whereas, It is the best interest of the City of Milwaukee to accept and expend private contributions to support the efforts of Milwaukee youth participating in the MKE Peace Project to promote violence prevention and peace in the community; and
Whereas, Pursuant to File Number 150149, the City Comptroller established a special account within the City Clerk's Office budget for the MKE Peace Project; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer appropriations from the Special Purpose Account-Contributions, 0001-2110-0001-D000-006300, and the estimated revenue from the Estimate Revenue Account-Contributions, 0001-9990-0001-009850 to the City Clerk's Office account, 0001-1310-0001-DXXX-006300 and the Estimated Revenue Account, 0001-1310-0001-009850, up to the amount actually received, but no more than $20,000; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Clerk's Office is authorized to expend funds actually received for the MKE Peace Project, but not to exceed $20,000.
