Title

Substitute resolution to recognize private streets and authorize the naming of North Selig Drive, West Frederick Miller Way, North Yount Drive and a portion of North General Mitchell Boulevard surrounding Miller Park stadium, located in the 8^th and 10^th Aldermanic Districts.

Analysis

To assist emergency response agencies in responding to and reporting on incidents that occur at Miller Park stadium, the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club has requested that the City designate the ring roads surrounding the stadium, also known North Selig Drive, West Frederick Miller Way, North Yount Drive and a portion of North General Mitchell Boulevard, as private roads.  With these streets designated as private roads, addresses can be assigned to supports emergency response agencies.

Body

Whereas, the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club (the "Brewers") desires that the ring roads surrounding the Miller Park stadium, which are used to access the stadium and the parking lots, remain private roads; and

Whereas, By the City formally designating North Selig Drive, West Frederick Miller Way, North Yount Drive and a portion of North General Mitchell Boulevard as private roads, parcel addresses can be assigned to support emergency service responses; and

Whereas, The Brewers request that the private street names for North Selig Drive, West Frederick Miller Way, North Yount Drive be consistent with signage that has already been placed on the roadways by the Brewers and the District and that the private street name for a portion of North General Mitchell Boulevard be consistent with the public street that it aligns with in order for emergency service responders to more easily locate addresses on this private street; and

Whereas, Chapter 113-1 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances provides for naming private roads and the Brewers have provided a legal description of the limits of the private roads; and

Whereas, A condition of adopting this resolution, the Brewers are responsible for placing brown street name signs in accord with Chapter 113-1 at their cost, as well as placing and maintaining traffic control devices as necessary to control vehicular traffic leaving the site; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the following private roads be described as follows:

NORTH SELIG DRIVE:
