Resolution authorizing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Revised Project Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for traffic signal and intersection alignment improvements and to transfer additional funds to the previously established subaccounts with an increase in construction cost of $72,342 for a new construction total cost of $252,342 with a Federal share increase of $65,108 for a new Federal share total construction cost of $227,108 and with a City share increase of $7,234 or a new City share total construction cost for $25,234.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Revised Project Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for traffic signal and roadway improvements at the intersection of West Fond Du Lac Avenue and North Sherman Boulevard with 90% State and Federal aid under the Highway Safety Improvement Program and to transfer additional funds to the previously established subaccounts. The revised construction cost for the project will result in an increase in City funding of $7,234 and in Federal funding of $65,108. The total cost of the project will increase to $403,418 with a Federal share of $323,026 and with a City share of $80,392.

Whereas, A project agreement has been executed by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the City of Milwaukee for traffic signal and intersection alignment improvements at the intersection of West Fond Du Lac Avenue and North Sherman Boulevard using State and Federal Aid under the Highway Safety Improvement Program, in accordance with Common Council resolution file number 120233, adopted July 6, 2012; and
Whereas, The City requested that additional construction funds be added and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation has agreed and provided a Revised Project Agreement to include the additional construction funds, to be executed by the City of Milwaukee with 90 % State and Federal Aid, under the Highway Safety Improvement Program; and
Whereas, The project is currently scheduled for construction in summer of 2015; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute the Revised State and Municipal Project Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for traffic signal and roadway improvements at the intersection of West Fond Du Lac Avenue and North Sherman Boulevard with 90% State and Federal aid under the Highway Safety Improvement Program, copies of which are attached to and incorporated in this resolution by reference as though set forth in full; and, be it
Further Resolved, That upon approval of this contract, the City Comptroller is hereby authorized to transfer additional funds to the previously established subaccounts the amount required under the agreement and City accounting policy, but not to exceed a ten percent increase of the total amounts reserved for the grantor's share and local share or $5,000, whichever is greater as follows:
