Title
Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $1,688,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $6,815,000.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable. After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council. The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $1,688,000 with the total cost estimated to be $6,815,000.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:
1st Aldermanic District
N. 15th St. - W. Olive St. to 350 feet m/l south of W. Olive St. (SM495150032): Relaying sanitary sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $76,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.
1st and 7th Aldermanic Districts
N. 30th St. Corridor (SM495150037): Relaying storm sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $1,500,000). The total estimated cost for this project is $1,500,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.
2nd Aldermanic District
W. Fond du Lac Ave. - W. Armitage Ave. to W. Constance Ave. (SM495150040): Storm sewer lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $95,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.
4th Aldermanic District
E. Erie St. at E. Menomonee St. (Intersection modification) and E. Menomonee St. - N. Broadway to E. Erie St. (ST211140150): Paving the roadway with asphalt. Laying a concrete curb and gutter. Laying concrete sidewalk. Doing all the necessary grading pertaining to said work. (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $20,000, Additional Funds). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $215,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2015 construction season.
W. Highland Ave. - N. Old World Third St. to N. 6th St. (SM495150036): Combined sewer lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $2,500,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.
6th Aldermanic District
W. Somers St. (Ext'd) - N. 7th St. to N. 10th St. (Ext'd) (SM495150033): Combined sewer relay and lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $205,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.
N. 7th St. - W. Cherry St. to W. Galena St. (SM495150034): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $123,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.
N. 8th St. (Easement) - W. Cherry St. to W. Somers St. (Easement) (SM495150035): Combined sewer lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $31,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.
N. 21st St. - W. Auer Ave./W. Hopkins St. to 265 feet m/l north of W. Keefe Ave. (SM495150031): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $20,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $494,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.
7th Aldermanic District
W. Chambers St. - N. 26th St. to N. 27th St. (SM495150042): Relaying storm sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $57,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.
8th Aldermanic District
S. 35th St. - W. Scott St. to W. National Ave. (SM495150029): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $227,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.
12th and 14th Aldermanic Districts
S. 6th St. - S. Chase Ave. to W. Becher St. (SM495150030): Combined large diameter sewer lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $312,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.
14th Aldermanic District
W. Montana St. - S. 6th St. to S. 9th St. (SM495150041): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $25,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $980,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
