Analysis
Currently, the city may, with the concurrence of the architectural review board, designate an architectural review district, or any portion thereof, as an historic district solely for the regulation of demolition permits in the district. This ordinance makes a technical correction such that an architectural review district, or any portion thereof, may be designated as an historic district, site or structure.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 320-21-2-a of the code is amended to read:
320-21. Historic Preservation Commission.
2. EXEMPTION. a. This section shall not apply to any district specified in s. 200 61, except that the city may, with the concurrence of the architectural review board, designate the district, or any portion thereof, as an historic district >>, site or structure<< solely for the regulation of demolition permits in the district.
