Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee previously adopted File Number 131728, which authorized the City Engineer to apply for five Federal Transportation Alternatives Program grants for the 2014-2018 application cycle, with an 80 percent grantor share and a 20 percent local share; and

Whereas, Preliminary approval has been requested and received from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, along with a Project Agreement to be executed by the City of Milwaukee, for the design of an Interactive Bicycle Mapping Application project under the 2015 federal Transportation Alternatives Program; and

Whereas, The approved project will develop an Interactive Bicycle Mapping Application to include web-based mapping of on-street bicycling facilities and off-street trails citywide and in the Milwaukee area for the public’s use to provide users with turn-by-turn directions based on user preferences and also information on linkages to transit routes and bike share stations; and
