Analysis
This ordinance makes a technical correction to the exemption of an architectural review district from the city's historic preservation regulations to reflect the fact that the city now has more than one architectural review district.
Furthermore, this ordinance authorizes the city to designate any portion of an architectural review district, with the concurrence of the architectural review board, as an historic district solely for the regulation of demolition permits in the district.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 320-21-2 of the code is amended to read:
320-21. Historic Preservation Commission.
2. EXEMPTION. This section shall not apply to [[the]] >>any<< district specified in s. 200-61, except that the city may, with the concurrence of the architectural review board, designate the district >>, or any portion thereof,<< as an historic district solely for the regulation of demolition permits in the district.
