Analysis
The code provides for the temporary extension of alcohol beverage premises for special events. The code further limits the sale of alcohol beverages on extended premises to single-service cups and prohibits the sale of alcohol and non-alcohol beverages in bottles, cans and glass containers.

This ordinance provides an exception to this limitation, allowing a licensee to serve beverages in single-service bottles or cans, but not in glass containers, when permitted by the chief of police upon application of a licensee or a sponsor of the special event.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1. Section 90-4-7.8-g of the code is amended to read:

90-4. Classification of Licenses.

7.8. TEMPORARY EXTENSION OF LICENSED PREMISES FOR SPECIAL EVENTS.

An exception to the limitation on sale of alcohol beverages to single-service cups in subd. 1 may be permitted by the chief of police upon application of an event sponsor or the licensee of the extended premise made at least 60 days prior to the special event.
