Analysis
This motion initiates an amendment to the boundaries of the Port of Milwaukee Sub Area B - North Development Incentive Zone to remove lands located northeast of the intersection of South 1st Street and East Greenfield Avenue from the Zone.

Whereas, On July 6, 2011, the Common Council passed File Number 101549, an ordinance that established a Development Incentive Zone known as Port of Milwaukee Sub Area B - North in the area generally bounded by the Kinnickinnic River to the east, South 1st Street to the west, South Kinnickinnic Avenue to the south and West National Avenue to the north; and

Whereas, Current development plans for lands located northeast of the intersection of South 1st Street and East Greenfield Avenue (the area highlighted in red in Exhibit A attached to this file) are inconsistent with and not supported by this zoning designation; and

Whereas, The Common Council finds that the development currently proposed for these lands would be beneficial to both the surrounding neighborhood and the city as a whole; and

Whereas, The Common Council further finds that, to facilitate the proposed development of lands located northeast of the intersection of South 1st Street and East Greenfield Avenue, these lands should be removed from the Port of Milwaukee Sub Area B - North Development Incentive Zone; and

Whereas, Pursuant to s. 295-1007-2-f of the Code of Ordinances, amendment of the boundaries of a development zone shall only be initiated by a motion of the Common Council or by a petition signed by owners of 50% or more of the area of all land included in the zone; now, therefore,
