Analysis
This resolution authorizes settlement of the discrimination matter brought against the City's ERS by Heather Long in the amount of $25,100.
Body
Whereas, Heather Long has filed a claim of discrimination against the City of Milwaukee, ERS00, Equal Rights Division Case No. CR201202551; and
 
Whereas, Ms. Long has agreed to settle her matter in the amount of $25,100; and
 
Whereas, The ERS will reimburse the City's Damages and Claims Fund in the amount of $25,100 through an IRI; and
 
Whereas, The City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it expeditious and just to settle this matter; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper city officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a check in the amount of $25,100, payable to Attorney Marcella dePeters Trust Fund and Heather Long, in full and final settlement of said matter, said check to be delivered to the City Attorney upon his request, said amount to be charged to the Damages and Claims Fund, Account No. 636505, Fund No. 0001, Organization No. 1490, Program No. 2632, Sub Class No. S118; thereafter, the proper city officer will send the ERS an IRI for reimbursement of the $25,100 to the Damages and Claims Fund, Account No. 636505, Fund No. 0001, Organization No. 1490, Program No. 2632, Sub Class No. S118, expended for the purpose of settling and releasing the claim against the City and ERS; and be it
 
Further Resolved, That the City Attorney shall upon payment to Ms. Long obtain a release of claim and deliver the original release to the City Clerk.
