This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works and Comptroller to execute a State Municipal Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the installation of traffic signal improvements on West Forest Home Avenue and South 27th Street at Six Connecting Highway Intersections and to fund preliminary engineering for the project in various Aldermanic Districts with a total estimated cost of $954,900, with an estimated grantor share of $859,410, and an estimated City share of $95,490. The total estimated preliminary engineering cost for the project is $203,000, with a grantor share of $182,700 and a City share of $20,300. Whereas, Preliminary approval has been requested and received from Wisconsin Department of Transportation, along with a State Municipal Agreement to be executed by the City of Milwaukee, for the programming and construction of a traffic signal improvement project under the 2016 Highway Safety Improvement Program; and

Whereas, The intersections on West Forest Home Avenue at West Oklahoma Avenue-South 44th Street, South 43rd Street, West Kinnickinnic River Parkway, South 35th Street, and South 27th Street and South 27th Street at West Cleveland Avenue have been identified for traffic signal improvements; and
