Analysis
This resolution authorizes an easement for below and above-ground electrical facilities at a City-owned property.
Body
Whereas, The Wisconsin Electric Power Company, doing business as WE Energies, needs to relocate electrical service on South 84th Street between I-94 and West Adler Street, due to improvements being made to South 84th Street for the Zoo Interchange reconstruction project; and

Whereas, WE Energies has proposed to move the existing electrical conduit on the north property line of the City-owned property at 459 South 84th Street to the south end of the property along West Adler Street and has provided the City of Milwaukee (“City”) an easement; and

Whereas, The existing and new electrical facilities provide electrical service to the City property at 459 South 84th Street that is improved with a scattered-site housing unit of the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (“HACM”) under a ground lease and with a City street lighting substation; and

Whereas, WE Energies is working with HACM and the City to minimize impacts of the utility relocation, and the new location will not adversely impact the City property; and

Whereas, The City shall not require compensation for the easement because the easement provides electrical service to municipal facilities; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the easement with Wisconsin Electric Power Company, doing business as WE Energies, at the City-owned property at 459 North 84th Street is approved; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Commissioner of City Development, or designee, is directed to execute the easement on behalf of the City.
