Analysis
This resolution permits the City of Milwaukee to convey property for stormwater management improvements.
Body
Whereas, By adoption of File No. 140153 on July 22, 2014, the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee (“Council”) authorized an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement (“ICA”) with the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (“MMSD”) to delegate responsibilities for infrastructure improvements for the North 30th Street Corridor Wet Weather Project between West Townsend Street and West Hampton Avenue (“Project”); and

Whereas, MMSD intends to construct a stormwater detention pond on North 30th Street for the Project and has identified ten properties that it will acquire, including the City-owned properties at 4244 and 4254 North 30th Street; and

Whereas, The ICA provided that any City-owned property acquired for the Project will be conveyed for $1.00, contingent on Council approval of the conveyance; and

Whereas, MMSD presented the City of Milwaukee with an Agreement for Purchase and Sale of Real Estate for the City-owned vacant lot at 4244 North 30th Street and for the City-owned house at 4254 North 30th Street and requested Council approval of the conveyances; and

Whereas, MMSD will provide relocation assistance and benefits, pursuant to the occupants displaced from the City-owned house as required by Wisconsin State Statutes; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of the Department of City Development, or designee, is directed to execute the Agreements for Purchase and Sale of Real Estate with MMSD for the City-owned properties at 4244 and 4254 North 30th Street, to execut...
