Analysis
Currently, a neighborhood electric vehicle used on city streets is required to have a gross vehicle weight at rest of less than 3,000 pounds. Under this ordinance, a neighborhood electric vehicle used on city streets shall have a curb weight of less than 4,000 pounds.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 101-51-2-0 is amended to read:
101-51. Use of Neighborhood Electric Vehicles (NEVs) On City Streets.
2. REQUIREMENTS. Neighborhood electric vehicles shall be 4-wheeled and have a speed range of at least 20 miles per hour and not more than 25 miles per hour on a paved surface, and have a [[gross]] >>curb<< vehicle weight at rest of less than [[3,000]] >>4,000<< pounds. Neighborhood electric vehicle does not include an electric golf cart and shall have:
