Resolution authorizing the acceptance and expenditure of up to $100,000 in private contributions for operation of the Milwaukee Fire Department Institute.

Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Fire Department to accept and expend up to $100,000 in private contributions from other fire departments who wish to participate in Milwaukee Fire Institute training events. Currently, contributions may only be accepted from fire departments. Whereas, Underwriters Laboratories (UL) desires to contribute toward costs associated with live-fire evolution studies of the hazards associated with attic and knee wall fires, and the most appropriate mitigation technique for each; and

Whereas, The Milwaukee Fire Department desires to clarify the intent of Resolution 121666 that Milwaukee Fire Institute contributors include, but are not limited to, outside fire departments; now, therefore be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Fire Department is authorized to accept funds for the Milwaukee Fire Institute from supporters of firefighter trainings, including but not limited to outside fire departments.
