Title
Substitute resolution authorizing sidewalk replacement in the various Aldermanic Districts and at various requested locations.
Analysis
To provide the necessary authority for sidewalk repairs in the Fourth (4th), Eighth (8th), Tenth (10th), and Twelfth (12th) Aldermanic Districts and various school locations.
Body
Whereas, It is necessary and in the public interest to replace those sidewalk stones which are cracked, broken, out of grade or otherwise a hazard to pedestrians; and
Whereas, It is proposed that sidewalk replacement work be done in the following locations at the indicated cost:
Area bounded by West Vliet Street, North Hawley Road, West Vine Street and North Hi-Mount Boulevard/North 50th Street in the 10th Aldermanic District; Area bounded by North 17th Street, West McKinley Avenue, North 20th Street and West Vliet Street in the 4th Aldermanic District; Area bounded by West Mitchell Street, South 16th Street Street, West Becher Street, West Forest Home Avenue and South Muskego Avenue in the 8th and 12th Aldermanic Districts and various school locations (ST230140147); and
Whereas, Funds have been encumbered and thus set aside for the proposed public improvement; now, therefore be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public works be, and is hereby authorized to proceed to do the above described sidewalk replacement work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is hereby authorized to set up $650,000 to 0333-ST230140147 and $360,000 to 0330-ST230140147; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the proper City Departments take such actions as is required of them to assess the abutting properties and collect such assessment in the manner directed by Section 115-42 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances.
