      This resolution authorizes Quit Claim Deeds to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to release City utility easement recorded at the Milwaukee County Register of Deeds Office as Document No.'s 2105254, 3889179 and 3368816, for areas within parts of State DOT's Zoo Interchange Project Area, in the 10th Aldermanic
      District.
Body
Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is undertaking a highway improvement project, Wisconsin Department of Transportation Project I.D. No. 1060-33-24, concerning improvement to and widening of the I-94 freeway, and in conjunction therewith, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation has requested that the City of Milwaukee provide Quit Claim Deeds to release City easement rights arising under easements recorded at the Milwaukee County Register of Deeds Office as Document No.'s 2105254 (South 84th Street location, City has no facilities within the easement area, release for area lying with highway right-of-way), 3889179 (regarding WE-133E, release for area lying within highway right-of-way), and 3368816 (SE-1155, release for area lying within highway right-of-way); and
 
Whereas, The City, by its Department of Public Works with assistance from the City Attorney's Office, negotiated the Quit Claim Deeds and Memorandum of Understanding that are part of this file to accomplish the conveyances, and to release the easements, and per the Memorandum of Understanding the DOT will pay the City $275,000 for the release of the 2105254 easement; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper City officers, including the Department of Public Works Commissioner, are hereby authorized: (i) to sign the Quit Claim Deed documents that are part of this file and that were submitted with this substitute resolution, in the form and substance submitted to this file (or in substantially the same form and substance as submitted, and to       effectuate the intent of this resolution); and (ii) to cause the same to be recorded in the Milwaukee County Register of Deeds Office; and (iii) to sign the Memorandum of Understanding in the substantially the same form and substance as submitted, and to       effectuate the intent of this resolution; and be it
 
Further Resolved, that the $275,000 to be paid by the DOT to the City be and hereby is allocated to DPW for the local cost component of mitigation and relocation for the Zoo Interchange Project.
