Analysis
This substitute resolution approves the creation of a pilot nurse practitioner service for employees to be provided at the Wellness Center in the Municipal Building. The Department of Employee Relations is directed to prepare a contract with Workforce Health to provide 20 hours per week of on-site nurse practitioner services and the Department of Public Works is directed to make alterations to the Wellness Center to accommodate this program.

Whereas, Other employers have found a value to on-site nurse practitioner services; and
Whereas, On-site nurse practitioner services would offer services to employees with no additional direct cost to employees; and
Whereas, On-site nurse practitioner services could help employees avoid other health provider costs in a convenient manner; and
Whereas, On-site nurse practitioner services could help employees get back to work after minor illness or injury and potentially avoid further illness or injury; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that a pilot nurse practitioner services program of 20 hours per week shall be provided at the Wellness Center in the Municipal Building; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Employee Relations shall prepare a contract for these services with Workforce Health to be returned to the Common Council for approval as soon as is feasible; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works shall make alterations to the Wellness Center to accommodate on-site nurse practitioner services.
