Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of a State and Local Implementation Grant Program Grant.

Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Fire and Police Commission - Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security to apply for, accept and fund a State and Local Implementation Grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce through the Wisconsin Department of Justice in the amount of $172,585.00 with a grantor share of $172,585.00 and a city share of $0. The purpose of this grant is to provide payment of for services and expenses of a SLIGP Coordinator who will develop processes related to Public Safety Wireless Broadband; conduct outreach, communications and engagement with local stakeholders; participate in meetings regarding FirstNet; facilitate meetings between infrastructure owners and First Net and identify potential public safety broadband users and stakeholders.

Whereas, Under CFDA #11.549, the City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the U.S. Department of Commerce through the Wisconsin Department of Justice; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 09/01/2013 to 07/30/2016 would cost $172,585.00 of which 100% would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the U.S. Department of Commerce through the Wisconsin Department of Justice is authorized and the Fire and Police Commission - Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2013 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects the following amount for the project titled: SLIGP Implementation Grant:
