This resolution directs the Commissioner of Public Works to enter into an agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the development, implementation and funding of traffic control and other safety measures and City staff meeting attendance necessary to mitigate traffic diversion on City streets due to construction activity on the I-43/94 Bridge Rehabilitation Project in 2014 and 2015; total cost $125,000 of which 100% is grantor funded.
Body
Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will be rehabilitating bridges over I-43/94 from Howard Avenue to I-794 in 2014 and 2015; and

Whereas, Construction activity on the bridges over I-43/94 is expected to result in the diversion of traffic on the local street system during this project due to lane and ramp closures on the freeway; and

Whereas, Preliminary approval has been received from the WisDOT, along with a Project Agreement to be executed by the City of Milwaukee, to provide reimbursement of actual costs for necessary services and items provided by the city for local street vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic impact mitigation measures and related staff attendance at project meetings in conjunction with the I-43/94 Bridge Rehabilitation Project construction; and
