Title
Substitute resolution encouraging employee participation in the City of Milwaukee Employees’ Combined Giving Campaign and directing the inclusion of the Milwaukee Brotherhood of Firefighters.
Analysis
This resolution encourages participation by employees in the 2014 and future City of Milwaukee Employees’ Combined Giving Campaigns authorized by Resolution File Number 100415, as amended.

The resolution also directs the proper City officials to take the actions necessary to ensure that the Milwaukee Brotherhood of Firefighters is included as a participating recipient of donations in future Combined Giving Campaigns.

Whereas, City employee participation in the City of Milwaukee Employees’ Combined Giving Campaign was reauthorized upon adoption of Common Council Resolution File Number 100415 on July 27, 2010; and

Whereas, Additional organizations were authorized to participate as recipients of donations to the Combined Giving Campaign upon adoption of Resolution Files 110208 on July 6, 2011 (EarthShare), 130792 on November 5, 2013 (Earn and Learn Fund) and 130909 on November 5, 2013 (Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee - HACM); and

Whereas; It is desirable to encourage participation in the City of Milwaukee Employees’ Combined Giving Campaign; and

Whereas, The Milwaukee Brotherhood of Firefighters (MBFF), a 501(c)(3) charitable organization incorporated, qualified and registered in 1988, is a fraternal organization of men and women who are current or retired members from all ranks of the Milwaukee Fire Department; and

Whereas, The MBFF is a community-based, non-profit organization that focuses on recruiting, training individuals to become firefighters and fire education to build a safer Milwaukee; and
