Analysis
This resolution permits the City of Milwaukee to execute an easement to facilitate road improvements.
Body
Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation ("WISDOT") presented the City of Milwaukee ("City") with an offer to acquire a temporary limited easement ("easement") at the City-owned property at 300 South 84th Street, which is Engine House No. 25 of the Milwaukee Fire Department ("MFD"); and
 
Whereas, The easement is approximately five years in length and will provide access to construct, cut and fill slopes for reconstruction of South 84th Street as part of the Milwaukee County Zoo Interchange Project; and
 
Whereas, MFD has reviewed the proposed easement and determined that it will not interfere with use of the property; and
 
Whereas, The appraisal presented by WISDOT has been reviewed by the City Real Estate staff and the offering values have been determined to be reasonable consideration for the easement; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of the Department of City Development, or designee, is authorized to execute said easement with WISDOT; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the proceeds from the easement, less a 30 percent cost reimbursement to the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee, shall be deposited in the General Fund.
