Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of a KaBOOM! Let’s Play Community Access grant.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works - Operations Division (Forestry Section) to apply for, accept and fund a Let’s Play Community Access Grant from KaBOOM! in the amount of $93,750 with a city share of $0 and a grantor share of $93,750. The purpose of the project is to improve access to Milwaukee Recreation playgrounds and playfields through upgraded game equipment, minor field house repairs and program marketing in partnership with Milwaukee Public Schools Recreation.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from KaBOOM! to improve access to Milwaukee Recreation playgrounds and playfields through upgrades game equipment, minor field house repairs and program marketing in partnership with Milwaukee Public Schools Recreation; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 1/31/2014 to 1/1/2015 would cost $93,750 of which, $0 (0%) would be provided by the city and $93,750 (100%) would be provided by the grantor; now therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that application to KaBOOM! is authorized and the Department of Public Works shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2014 Special Revenue - Grant and Aid Projects the following amounts for the program/project titled Let’s Play Community Access Grant:
